The swimming lake is popular among insiders and local people as well as among tourists. Especially families with children appreciate the well arranged facility, the shallow water and last but not least the free entrance.
The high number of visitors on hot days proves the popularity of the swimming lake.

From the beginning of June to the end of August the swimming lake on the outskirts of Gais is a popular meeting point for many mothers and their young children as well as for the young-at-heart who love sunbathing on the big and well-groomed lawn.

The Pirata bar, an altered corsair, which anchors near a small island, serves cool drinks and delicious ice cream.

Experience the calmness of fishing at the wonderful newly constructed fishing pond “Thara” just a few kilometres outside Gais/Uttenheim. The pond is right next to the inn Prenn-Hof, which is best accessible by bike on the asphalted bicycle lane. Rental of fishing rods at the Prennhof inn from April to October. (+39 335 694 72 73)

Cycle tracks in the Pustertal valley

This area with its low level of difficulty is ideal for children and beginners. The protective barrier which was heaped up after a forest fire assures a pleasant distance to the close-by road and the excavations extended the climbing tours for another five metres.

Peculiarities: Heavy rain falls may cause a small pond at the entry area.

In the Puster Valley, at the moment, there are 3 Golf Clubs with their practice courses namely:
the GC KRONPLATZ, founded 1993 and since 1994 a member of the Italian Golfing Association FIG ,
the GC KREUZBERGPASS, member of the Italian Golfing Association FIG and
the GC MIRABELL, member of the Italian Golfing Association FIG.
There are between five- and six hundred active resident golf players in the valley to date.
In the Puster Valley there are not enough golf courses to offer sufficient practice to satisfy local demand, the residents interest in golf urgently requires further facilities. This requirement will be covered by the building of the two golf courses in Reischach and Altprags thus guaranteeing easy access for all. In addition to which they will improve the quality of the game for the whole of Shouth Tyrol.
Building these two additional golf courses definitely adds to the tourist attractions in our valley emphasised by the approval to go ahead by the Provincial Government.
These is no doubt that the tourist infra-structure will be improved, thus raising the general image of the valley – making it more attractive to golf players and adding further business to the hotels.
These improvements will certainly make the Puster Valley even more interesting to our tourists.

„LÅCKNFESCHT“ - SNOW FESTIVAL
The best at the end! On 13th April 2008, just before the last lifts close, there is an exciting and unique event you shouldn’t miss, called the „Låcknfescht“. It all started 20 years ago (in 1988) when some people from the Pusterer valley tried to cross a small pond of melt water in the “Seewiese” (lake meadow) on the Kronplatz mountain every year in spring. The big puddle has turned into a grand one – thanks to the water supply. Cars without tyres, marriage-beds, bath tubs, rockets, desks, deck chairs with parasols, compositions of tyres, people in uniforms or half-naked ones and lots of other “saucers” on which you can slide down the hill can be found at the festival. Besides there is great and groovy music, food and drink for everyone!
The highlight of the day is the BIG AIR COOL WATER JUMP CONTEST. Skiers and snowboarders risk acrobatic jumps into the freezing cold water of the „Låcke“.
